Ray Kurzweil claimed that humans could turn out be immortal within twenty years of time span through Nanotechnology and sophistication of how human body works. This theory is called the law of accelerating returns, Kurzweil claiming, will have the means to reprogram our bodies' stone age software that will pave the way for halting and then revising aging.
